Tarsus has significant geopolitical importance and is located approximately half an hour away from both the airport and the city centers of Mersin and Adana. Transportation to the city center can be provided in a short time by Havaş shuttle services from the airport and by high-speed train from Mersin and Adana. Tarsus is a settlement located at an equal distance from the city centers of Adana and Mersin and is a highly accessible city thanks to regular road, highway, and high-speed train transportation connecting these cities.

Our University is located to the north of the Mersin-Adana highway and is situated in a convenient location accessible from these cities by road, highway, and high-speed train. After arriving in Tarsus using these transportation options, the University can be easily reached by Metropolitan Municipality buses, which have a high passenger-carrying capacity. The frequency of these public transportation services has been increased over time, and our students will not encounter any difficulties regarding transportation.

Tarsus is an ancient city that stands out with its geographical location, population exceeding that of 54 provinces, proximity to the Çukurova Regional Airport, which is under construction, and its historical and cultural richness. In particular, having a population exceeding that of 54 provinces has also contributed to the social and cultural development of the city. Various cultural and social organizations, such as operas, theaters, and concerts, are organized by different institutions and organizations in the city. In addition, its proximity to the city centers of Mersin and Adana will enable you to benefit from all the social, cultural, and economic opportunities of these two cities, which have a total population of approximately 4 million. Rents are at a reasonable level, and due to the development of agriculture and transportation, the cost of essential living expenses is considerably lower compared to other cities.

There are three dormitories affiliated with the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories (KYK) in Tarsus. In addition to their high capacity, private dormitories are also available in the city.

Our University has a cafeteria serving lunch, where students are offered a four-course meal at a nominal fee. In addition, there are cafeterias on our University campus.

In addition to student clubs established within our University and open to all students, there is also the Ombudsman Student Community established by the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. Indeed, today there is a need for people who understand these systems, can analyze and solve problems, and think analytically. The Department of Management Information Systems is a multidisciplinary field that brings together people, technology, and information management. One of the most important purposes of Management Information Systems is to gather information from different locations and present it as a whole in order to facilitate managerial decision-making.

In addition, the Department aims to provide sufficient knowledge in the design and development of information systems applications, management of information technology projects, management of information resources and systems, and risk and security management in information and communication technologies.

With its successful and young academic staff, our Department is equipped with a curriculum that balances management and computer science courses in order to prepare students for developing business information systems. Thirty percent of our curriculum is taught in English. Management and Organization, Economics, Marketing, Computer Programming, Statistics, Systems Analysis and Design, Decision Support Systems, and Operations Research are some of the courses offered to prepare you in the best possible way for this profession. In addition, starting from the third year, you will have the opportunity to take elective courses in both cultural and professional fields.

Through this multidisciplinary education, our graduates are expected to be able to pursue careers in almost every field where technical problem-solving skills are required.

Various practical activities will also be organized as part of our courses, and during Career Days, we will bring you together with career professionals working in the public and private sectors.

An academic advisor is assigned to our students throughout their university education in order to meet all their advising needs regarding the educational programs and regulations of the department in which they are enrolled.

Considering the courses offered in our Department, graduates have employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors. In this context, graduates may;
• Work in various positions as business analysts, application developers for businesses, information technology consultants, systems analysts, information technology project development leaders, business intelligence analysts, systems developers, web developers, network administrators, technical support specialists, and information systems managers.
• Work in various positions such as data processing specialists, database administrators, and database analysts.
• Work in various positions aimed at increasing the effectiveness of business organizations by having knowledge of the basic business processes and structural characteristics within an organization.
• Work in the private sector and non-governmental organizations as innovative and entrepreneurial professionals who adapt to rapid national and international changes.
• Continue their academic careers through postgraduate education with an understanding of lifelong learning.

There is no compulsory internship requirement for graduation in our Department. However, students who wish to undertake an optional internship will be supported in this regard.

A summer school may be offered within the academic year. The principles regarding education and training during summer school are determined by the Senate. Within the framework of the principles determined by the Senate, students may take course(s) from the summer school of other higher education institutions upon the decision of the relevant unit's administrative board. The transfer of the credits and grades of the course(s) taken is carried out upon the decision of the relevant unit's administrative board. The conversion of grades obtained from other higher education institutions is carried out according to the principles determined by the Senate.

Through the Erasmus program, our students may have the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a university abroad with which the Department has an agreement. Through the Farabi program, they may also have the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at any higher education institution in Türkiye with which an agreement has been established.

There is a preparatory class in our Department, and the language of instruction is 30% English. In addition to the compulsory “Foreign Language I” and “Foreign Language II” courses offered in both semesters of the first year, our curriculum also includes “Business English I” and “Business English II” as compulsory courses throughout both semesters of the second year.
