Project Title: Household Energy Poverty and Its Relationship with Health
Project Principal Investigator: Dr. Özlem İPEK, Assistant Professor Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Management Information Systems
Research Institution: Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain
Project Duration: 12 Months
The aim is to develop an energy poverty-based health model that will enable the analysis of the long-term effects of energy poverty, which emerges in various dimensions among households, on individuals' health conditions.

5) Research on Sustainable Energy and Thermoelectric Materials by Our Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Özkurt at the University of Zaragoza, Spain
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar ÖZKURT, a faculty member of our department, has been a visiting researcher at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, from March 7 to May 3, 2024. During this period, she has been conducting joint research on the laser production of energy-efficient thermoelectric materials in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7, which focuses on ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. The focus of her visit has been on research activities aimed at achieving this goal.
6) Our Research Assistant Sidar AĞDUK Participated as a Fellow in the TÜBİTAK 3005 - Research Projects Support Program for Innovative Solutions in Social and Human Sciences
Sidar AĞDUK, a research assistant in our department, participated as a fellow in the TÜBİTAK 3005 - Research Projects Support Program for Innovative Solutions in Social and Human Sciences. The project, titled “Analysis of Disputes in the Construction Sector Using Machine Learning Methods and Decision Prediction Models,” is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Savaş Bayram from the Department of Civil Engineering at Erciyes University. The research team includes Doç. Dr. Emrah Aydemir (Department of Management Information Systems, Sakarya University), Doç. Dr. Cemil Akçay (Department of Architecture, Istanbul University), Öğr. Gör. Mahmut Sarı (Technical Sciences Vocational School, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University), and Uzm. Arb. Derya Karademir (Turkey Construction Industry Employers' Union).

Dr. Özlem İPEK, a faculty member of the Department of Management Information Systems, has been selected as a working group member in the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Action listed below, with scientific coordination carried out by TÜBİTAK.
-COST Action: CA21143 "Transnational Family Dynamics in Europe" (TraFaDy)
Dr. Özlem İPEK will contribute to working groups WG(4) and WG(5), focusing on the health and subjective well-being of transnational families, as well as data collection and empirical methods in this area.
