As part of its social responsibility efforts, the Tarsus University Department of Management Information Systems (MIS), in collaboration with the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, organized a Disaster Awareness Training. The event was held in cooperation with the Mersin Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD).
During the training, participants received comprehensive information on pre-disaster preparedness, appropriate behavior during a disaster, and post-disaster actions. The event aimed not only to raise individual awareness but also to promote a sense of community solidarity in the face of emergencies.
Following the presentations, a hands-on earthquake drill was conducted to help students reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical experience.
The participating students became more aware of how to act during disasters and were informed about essential topics such as preparing an emergency kit. At the end of the training, a survey was conducted to collect participants' feedback.
